Melancholy, is it?

Sometimes or maybe many times, we are evaluating  our actions and feelings thinking about the various norms of right conduct in different situations. 'Should I be doing this?' is the question that keeps popping up in the head all the time. The more we strain our minds thinking about any one setting, person or relation, we lead ourselves towards complexity. Stuck between the reality and the hypothetical world of our own, we struggle to keep up with the distinctive standards of the several roles we have to play. The knowledge that we are not being able to do what we ought to leaves us in a melancholic state. It gives a feeling that we can reach nowhere in life...if we continue like this we can never become the person who we aspire to become.
The want to be different and extraordinary demotivates us when we look at the things we do and think how normal and ordinary it is or the way we are doing it is no different...we ask ourselves, "How am I different if I do things like this?!"
We always know, but at times it is important to recall that all of us are unique and more than ordinary. There is always an opportunity for everyone to become extraordinary. All the great thoughts and quotes given to us by the great and "extraordinary" people are only for our convenience, to make us see things more clearly with an open mind. Those words are not meant to be perceived as a command as if there is someone hovering above our minds ready to strike at us whenever we do something that we shouldn't do (according to all the wisdom we have stored in our heads), but of course we shouldn't do immoral and illegal things.
We must preserve, respect and accept our original being. Staying who you are and the words selfish and selfless are very charmingly described by the author Ayn Rand in her classic novel, The Fountainhead. We shouldn't be so selfless that we forget who we are in pretending something we are not.
Excess of everything is harmful. This applies to wisdom as well. Calculating and evaluating everything is not easy. It's better to learn little things and implement them properly in our lives than to absorb a lot of things and being confused. Just take light and don't burden yourself. Melancholy is just an illusion of mind, because at the end everything depends on our perception. It's always in our hands how we want to make things for us. We can make them seem impossible by creating a monstrous image as soon as we are exposed to it or we can be calm and simply believe in ourselves and extend our extent of capabilities. And that is why I believe that Perception is All That Matters.

Our time to act. A step to bring a revolution.

I wanted to write about this for a long time. After watching Satyamev Jayate yesterday, I finally got the inspiration to put it into words and share this.

'Samaaj'...what is it? It's just a word that we use to camouflage our wrong acts. Why do we let this 'samaaj' influence our lives so much that we are not able to breathe easily even after inhaling clean air?!
Female Foeticide is a crime that is prevailing in our country, anywhere and everywhere...in villages, in hospitals...by the Doctors (who are known to "save" lives)! But they cannot be blamed alone. They do it because of us! Because we demand it! Why? Because the 'samaaj' demands a boy child (their vansh...while the girl child is considered to be a liability) from a new bride. Sigh. A child is God's gift.

Girls, do you think that if you'd have a girl child then would you love her any less than a  boy child in the same place?
Same question for the boys. Boys, ask yourself from deep inside...in future, would you really want your wife to deliver a boy rather than a girl?! For the sake of your parents? The society? For whom? Because of whom?!
Girl or a boy, both are human beings, right? Not giving a damn to that useless 'samaaj', I think there's hardly anyone whose happiness and love would depend on their child's gender.
Samaaj is nothing. It is us. And we are a part of it. 'Samaaj ka darr' needs to be demolished from everyone's mind and it requires our commitment. If each one of us, as an individual, pledge that neither will we ever be a part of this heinous crime nor witness it mutely. It is true- Every drop makes the ocean.

The Constitution gives us the Right to Life so that we live and let live. It's not a license to take others' lives. Everyone of us are persons with dignity and integrity. So, this is the time to prove it.
Today, right now, at this moment I pledge that I'd never be a part of killing a girl child, will never let it happen around me and will always raise voice against those who do it.
So, who else is pledging this today? It's a test for your integrity. Stick to this promise throughout your life.

It's Simple!

When we grow up and acquire lots of knowledge, we complain that life is complex, I don't get anything, people don't get me!, the list goes on...
Remember the time when we were little, content with our lives, finding joys in little things, being the reason for others' smiles...? But there's no need to remember it because we can LIVE it!
One day, I told a four year old, "Look Aanya, this bird has only one leg!"

She looked at it and said smiling, "But it can Fly!"

I was surprised to hear this. It was simple, without giving much thought she just told the obvious. And I was busy thinking that what might have happened and how difficult it must be for that bird...until I realized that we don't need to strain our minds! Optimism is nothing complex. Look at the world with a child's eyes and everything is amazing!
Doesn't matter how old we've grown up, the child in us is always there and will be awakened if we'll realize its presence.
Even after being so fortunate we crib about the things that we don't have. If we start counting what all we have, then we'll run out of numbers. So be thankful and grateful for what all you have. There are many reasons to be happy and Life is too short to be sad. So cheer up! Live happily today, to the fullest and tomorrow will take care of itself.

Beautifully explained...

"I did not come into the world
To prove anything.
I came into the world
To love everyone
And everything.

The sole purpose of my life
Is to go back once more
To my peace-home-heart.

Life is given to each human being
For a very special purpose.
This secret each human being
Must discover for himself.

The glowing purpose of your life
Is to run fast, faster, fastest
Towards the farthest and brightest Goal.

My whole purpose in life
Is to be of service to mankind.
This I can do only
By offering inspiration
On the strength of my oneness.

If you think that
Life has a higher purpose,
Then you are fully ready
For the spiritual life."

P.S.- I didn't write this but liked it! :)

Eyes within...

There are two ways of looking at things: one, what the world makes us see and second, what we see from the eyes of our own mind. Insight is our guiding light. Everything around us...we have a perception about it. Sometimes we forget that we always have a choice to see what we want to see.
This opens a beautiful possibility. Why not look at the good things even about the things that seem to be not so good?
The way we perceive influence our interpretations, feelings, words and finally actions and reactions.

I Am Better Than ME!

Everything and everyone is unique. This world is a masterpiece with each and every thing having its special existence and importance. We should not or cannot compare one thing with other. One’s life- happiness, struggle, achievements, loss, feelings, and all that contributing to his/her experience…belong only to that person and no other soul. Comparing with others gives either satisfaction or depression, but it is only unrealistic.
Comparison, in my opinion, is justified only when I compare myself with me!
Work to be better than you were yesterday.

Connect...

Being ever-ready to help others, listening to them and understanding them is being human. But it's important to listen to yourself as well. Introspect.
To connect with oneself, it is imperative to feel those five elements which one is made of viz. the Earth, Water, Air, Fire and Sky. Entwine with nature.

We are completely natural. So, we are naturally complete.
